Joel Pott from the band, Athlete, takes his Lomo LC-A out on the town. Check out his analogue adventures after the jump!

As the lead vocalist and guitarist of Athlete, a British indie rock band, Joel Pott is also a big lover of analogue photography. He loves music, arts, and his kids. We can only expect the best from this talented artist.

How long have you been a Lomographer (or are you new to this whole thing)?
Around 6 years.

Describe the LC-A+ in five words.
Friend. Nemesis. Beautifully shit genius.

The strangest, funniest, or hands-down greatest photographic/Lomographic encounter that you have ever had?
One of my friends had a party and had these ‘sumo suits’. About 2 hours of sumo battle commenced…..I got some pretty weird/uncompromising shots from that.

If your photos shown here could have a soundtrack of three songs, what would they be (song title & artist please)?
I think a soundtrack would be a good idea, it would make the photo’s more exciting than they really are. I reckon Eat Your Heart by Micachu, If You Leave Me Now by Chicago and then 2 Rights Make 1 Wrong by the lovely Mogwai would go a long way to making me look like a slightly above average photographer.

If you could be anywhere, doing anything, right now, where would it be and what would you do?
In North Wales with friends drinking fine single malt whiskey round a huge fire.

You’ve recently announced your new tour dates. Which city are you highly anticipating? Why?
We just finished our last gig of the tour at the Union Chapel in London. That was special….it’s a beautiful church I’ve been desperate to play in ever since I saw Sparklehorse there about 8 years ago.

What was the first concert that you ever attended? What was so memorable about it?
When I was about 7 or 8 I attended a music school. I remember the first concert because I played La Bamba on a Nylon string guitar…behind my head. The other memorable one would be seeing Pavement & Blur at Reading festival back in the 90’s. It was one of Pavement’s last gigs before they split, Blur were amazing and someone got pelted by bottles of piss!

The music industry is competitive and difficult. What keeps you motivated to continue in your music career?
A love of music!

Getting your hands on a Lomography camera must’ve brought back some memories from your studies of photography. Can you tell us the most memorable thing you learned about photography?
I learnt plenty about composition & technical stuff…it’s all kind of handy but a lot of it went over my head. Fortunately I had a teacher who LOVED photography. He taught me that to capture the moment you just need to be there with your camera. That’s what I love about my LC-A+, it’s a snappy camera that’s part of everyday life.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I’m not really thinking that far ahead….

The one person (living or deceased) who you would most like to photograph?
Albert Einstein or Doc from Back To The Future.

Your advice to future LC-A+ photographers.
Always carry duct tape.
