DigitaLIZA 110: The Scanner Helper!

110 is a very curious format, but difficult to scan, and the solutions are really clunky and cumbersome most of the time, so the Digitaliza 110 makes the scanning a breeze. Keep reading to see the results!

110 is a very interesting format: compact, very easy to use, and has the most ingenious camera designs from the pre-digital era. It's even easier to load and swap between camera to achieve certain effects or make simple tests.

“The little camera that takes big pictures” as advertised by Kodak.

110 was the format that almost everbody used during the 70's and 80's (the Pentax Auto 110 and the Minolta 110 Zoom SLR bear evidence of that), too bad that the format faded and actually wasn't fully developed. Fortunately, Lomography came to save the day with the new 110 films -- the 110 zoo as I like to call them because of their variety and fun that everybody can have with a 110 camera old and new (especially the Diana Baby 110)

But all this practicality has a downside. The image is smaller and more prone to grain, and here is where the 110 film experience gets seriously difficult. Mostly because scanning a 16mm image is tricky due to the size, there are numerous tips to do the scanning in 35mm masks or with paper sheets or cardboard.

But don't despair, Lomography saves the day again!

Enter the DigitaLIZA 110 Scanning Mask!

Like its 35mm and 120 counterparts, it has the same loading system the only thing that it varies is the size due to the 16mm film that is inside the 110 cartridge, except for that detail is identical.

The results, as you can see, are perfect. The film is tightly held in place and the images came out very well without any complications.

If you are dedicated to exploring this fun format, I recommend getting the DigitaLIZA 110 Scanning Mask. It's not expensive and your images will be scanned nicely minus the hassle!

Lomo on!
