One of the key attractions driving many people to see Lucban's Pahiyas is the creative decorations that adorn houses along the annual parade route. The decors usually showcase the locals' ingenuity in using agricultural produce like vegetables, fruits and grains to create awesome works of art. This year I chanced upon this house whose frontyard was decorated with dioramas depicting folk life in Lucban, specially during fiesta time. Each of the two-foot dolls was made of a variety of vegetables found in the lyrics of the folk song 'Bahay Kubo' (nipa hut). The squash became the head, string beans as hair, garlic as eyes, etc. Doubled my shots with shell necklaces arranged in random order.
