Andrey Rublyov - (born in the 1360s, died 29 January 1427 or 1430, or 17 October 1428 in Moscow) is considered to be one of the greatest medieval Russian painters of Orthodox icons and frescos.

A fragment of the monument to Andrei Rublev established in 1985, in the square in front of the main gate of the Savior-Andronikov monastery. The sculpture of the icon painter is made of bronze. The author of the monument is the sculptor O. K. Komov.
The real image of Andrei Rublev was not preserved, and his type was created in association with his works.
