Smolensk. Tower Of Thunder

«Thunder Tower» — is one of the most beautiful towers of the Smolensk fortress, built by the architect Fyodor Kon. This is the first of the restored towers of the fortress, restored in its original form.
In 2002, the 400th anniversary of the Smolensk fortress wall, on the second floor of the Thunder tower was opened the exhibition on the construction of the Smolensk fortress wall and the heroic 20-month defense of the city in the time of trouble 1609-16011.
The fourth tier of the tower – the best lookout of the city. At weekends you can witness the demonstrations, held a historic theatre «the Borderline».
