Tree ring pattern in the embers of a burning stump.

This stump burned slowly for days. At night, when I went to check on it, I was mesmerized by the crackled pattern of the tree rings in the embers, as well as their pulsing glow. A long exposure with cable shutter release allowed me to gently blow on the embers and capture their varied light.
