This is a Place Where I Don't Feel Alone.
compartido por meitads en 2014-04-19Once in a year, I get to go home to the beautiful islands of Indonesia. Unfortunately however, I live in the capital - a city which has just recently been voted number one on the 'place with the worst traffic jam in the world' list. Even so, a home is still a home, and as the poetic words of The Cinematic Orchestra go: This is a place where I don't feel alone. This is a place that I call home.

Japan Adventures Part 3: Kyoto.
compartido por meitads en 2014-08-07Walking through Kyoto felt like walking through a dream. As if the entire place was covered in melancholic, soft hues. Everything in and about it was just perfect and beautiful, and I really am finding it challenging to write this short description about the city.

Japan Adventures Part 5: Tokyo.
compartido por meitads en 2014-08-10The final leg of our adventure was Tokyo, the bustling metropolis, bursting with vibrant colours in a mix of modern lifestyle and traditional upbringings. We started our day with a visit to Tsukiji fish market, and ended it with a trip to Asakusa's Senso-Ji temple and Shibuya. The neon lights and busy streets were perfect for one final test for the absolutely gorgeous cinestill film.

British Weather
compartido por meitads en 2014-10-12If there is anything that I find slightly annoying in this otherwise perfect country, it's the weather. The most unpredictable, changeable and weirdest weather patterns (or lack of!) happen here. So, whenever it's sunny, I rush out of the house to make the most of the rare sunshine.

A Study in Gold: Christmas in West Yorkshire.

13 Ghosts II.
compartido por meitads en 2015-02-21Leeds is one of the most comforting places I've ever had the absolute pleasure to live in. The smallness of the city makes it simple to explore, but there is always something new to do or to see in every visit. At night, the city is filled with subdued lights and colours, drawing a charming - almost melancholic mood from its nooks and corners. Every time I walk along the almost-empty evening streets, a particular song always fills up my mind: Nine Inch Nails' 13 Ghosts II.

Cafe Days.
compartido por meitads en 2015-02-24I tend to be more of a laid back, introverted person in real life. Rather than going out to busy nightclubs, I prefer to sit back in small cafes with friends or a good book in hand. It also works out great as I can take in the lovely OM-10 along, and treasure the beauty of comfort in 35mm frames.

Hutan Pinus
compartido por meitads en 2015-12-01Hutan Pinus (Pine Forests) aren't a thing of abundance around the part of Indonesia I grew up in. That was why, when we finally visited one - a dense, calming forest at the side of Mt. Pancar in Bogor, West Java - we were in awe of its beautiful colors and the way the light danced through the foliage.

Venetian Adventures Part 1: Late Night Cinema
compartido por meitads en 2016-02-02Venezia is well known for its picturesque canals, charmingly coloured houses and blue-green waters - all highlighted lovingly by the golden rays of summer sun. However, for my first ever trip to this amazing city, I wanted to show another part of its beauty: its cinematic nights wrapped in tones of amber lights; its familiar faces going about their daily lives.

Venetian Adventures Part 2: Canals and the Fog.
compartido por meitads en 2016-02-02In the winter Venice was covered in a layer of fog, subduing its colours to gentleness and adding a charming mystery to its beauty. The quiet scenes of its winding canals brought forward poised stillness, as if the city was straightening its posture and taking a deep breath, before softly singing a delicate aria in honour of its waters' beauty.

Weathers crap outside, so unleashed inside with a…
compartido por chilledvondub en 2015-02-23Here are some shots from the first 2 rolls of film i put through my new M6. Apart from the EOS-1N for fast paced work, medium format for studio and portraiture I probably won't be using any other 35mm camera going forward, as this thing is incredible

Saved by the...... just saved somehow
compartido por chilledvondub en 2013-01-18Well i got bored the other night decided to make roll of redscale film using the old flip cut a stick technique. I had several problems with this roll and im very suprised i got the results i did. Firstly the film expired in 2002 and alot of the film was rotten so much so there was a portion of film where the sprockets had perished which brought me to my second problem, which was that i couldn't load the film on the reel as it kept getting wedged when it reached the perished part of the film. Then finally as there was no reel in my tank i couldn't guarantee it was light tight either! Shooting was an issue too as i rated the film at 50ASA and i don't think England has ever been bright enough to allow you to shoot pictures at hand held speeds! Therefore i mainly just kept the camera set to f/2.8 - 1/60 :D
