Great Temple of Abu Simbel

This is my dream destination and i finally reached here after years of attempting to. the feeling is priceless.

Abu Simbel was forgotten, buried under the sand, rediscovered, under the threat of submerging under the Nile waters, and rescued by UNESCO. 1964-1968: entire site was cut into 3,000 large blocks, dismantled, lifted and reassembled to a higher location. This $40 million rescue project let us witness one of the most amazing wonders & archaeological engineering in history.
