More Madrid Street Life
These photos were taken on an evening out with my daughter in the "Writers' Quarter" of Madrid - she wanted to learn how to use both a digital and analogue SLR. I'm beginning to realise that the "Golden Hour" is a double-edged sword - shooting away from the setting sun is great, but shooting towards the sun can generate such a huge contrast, the foreground can be totally blacked out if you measure for the highlights, or if you measure for the lowlights, the sky gets burned out. Actually, come to think of it, I forgot to change the ISO setting on the camera from 200 to 100, and I was shooting 100 film faster. Thus, I had to push the development an extra two minutes, giving some pretty wild contrast!
