week 50: little monsters

i really like my fed 3 camera. but do you know what i don’t like about the camera? that you don’t see what film is in it. i thought that i had some regular color negative film in it, so it wouldn’t be too bad if i mess up some pictures by playing around with the flash for the first time. but no! turns out it was one of my precious x-pro films. damn!

apparently it really is a bad idea to put film in the camera because you planned a shoot, but for whatever reason you don’t get round to actually do it, and then you leave the film in it for weeks/months and totally forget about it.

well, lesson learned.

nevertheless i got a few nice pictures.
here we have 3 little monsters, i made them ages ago and still don’t know what to do with them. at least they finally got photographed. and they do look quite cute. (is it offensive for a monster to be called “cute”? :D )

also, some pictures of a snowy landscape:

unfortunately the rest of the roll is unsuccessful flash shots. i didn’t realize that a flash on a fed 3 camera ONLY works properly with a shutter speed of 1/30. not with a shorter exposure time and not even with a longer one. or so the internet says. i certainly should have looked it up before, because now most of my pictures look something like this:

too bad, but well, second lesson learned.
i will try it again soon, but this time with the correct settings.

if you would like to see all of my monster and snow shots, you can check them out here: little monsters.
