Expired Film Weirdness

Nikon F80 SLR - taken in the grounds of an abandoned psychiatric hospital at Bangour.

Hmm, not really sure what went wrong here but you know even though it is all kinds of wrong I actually like it!

I suspect the problem stems from the fact I left a roll of film in a camera for years and forgot about it. This was the first shot taken when I rediscovered the camera so it must have been stuck on this frame for years. The rest of the film came out ok if a bit grainy.
