Indonesian Lomographer Lomo Cult aka @iyan on the BelAir X 6-12

Indonesian Lomographer and Lomography superfan goes by the handle @iyan but prefers to be called "Lomo Cult." He shares his passion for Lomography through his social media platform and LomoHome which are now filled with unique analogue creations.

Lomo Cult boasts a Lomography camera collection which includes 20 cameras of different film formats. His collection even contains two LC-A+ versions and three Diana F+ versions! However, he chooses the BelAir X 6-12 camera as his favorite.

Lomo Cult's journey as a Lomographer started in 2011 and he didn't stop being a fanboy since.

"I watched the 60-minute video about Matthias Fiegl and Wolfgang Stranzieger on BBC Channel thru YouTube. The video expounds on the life of Lomography's founders and how they first met. particularly, I found the story behind the Lomography LC-A+ interesting — from the camera's Soviet Union origins to how it ended up with two students from Vienna. Personally, Lomography is not about the technicalities of photography — it's about the freedom to express your creative eye through the way you shoot. Most of the time, photography is about sharp images, cool and fancy gear, accurateness, and being precise. But with Lomography, you can be who you want as an artist, with the freedom to not care whether you are a good or bad photographer, and you can create amazing work without much intent. Lomography is simple; don't think, just shoot."

He also states that there is no special reason behind his admiration for the BelAir X 6-12 camera and that he just prefers using it for his projects. Being a true blue Lomographer, he stresses that he likes most of his shots as long as he is using a Lomography camera.

Lomo Cult's random style of shooting is also a testament to his devotion to analogue photography. He embodies Lomography's core belief and advocates that the process of taking the photos should just be as enjoyable as the output itself.

"With Lomography, you can be who you want as an artist, with the freedom to not care whether you are a good or bad photographer, and you can create amazing work without much intent. Lomography is simple; don't think, just shoot. And sometimes, the 'don't think just shoot' philosophy yields the best photos."

Being his cheeky self, Lomo Cult notes that the attention he gets from girls whenever he uses his Lomography cameras in public is also a perk. He also remarks that the future is analogue and of course, "Long Live Lomography!"
