Say hello to our Holiday LomoAmigo Jennson! His Lomographs will definitely inspire you to get experimental with your analogue camera. Get to know more about him in this special feature!

REAL NAME: Daniel
LOMOHOME: http://www.lomography.com/homes/jennson

Could you begin by telling us a little about yourself – Maybe an interesting fact people might not know about you?
Hmm.. I enjoy living in a small village in the Austrian Alps where I grew up. My biggest passion is skiing. I like all kinds of sports, flyfishing and spending time in our nature. Since I was a kid I have been interested in painting, fotography and other kinds of art. I work as a skiing instructor in winter and as greenkeeper at our mountain-golf course in summer ..beeing outdoors the hole day makes me really happy! I could not imagine sitting in an office every day.

How long have you been into Lomography and how did you discover it?
I have seen the Diana in an online store (not @ LSI) and a few examples of shots taken with it and I was fascinated.. It all started at my last years birthday in November 2010 when I got my Diana F+ Deluxe Kit from my girlfriend. My first rolls (I used the 35mm adapter and CN-film) have been very disappointing. Then I discovered LSI and learned more about different formats, processing and different cameras. But the best thing was the inspiration I got by clicking through thousands of great shots. I felt so creative after a few days and decided to buy a Lomo LC-A+..

What are your plans for the winter holidays?
Giving lessons to people who spend their winter holidays in our mountains and trying to improve their skiing skills ..a very busy time for me! X-mas I will spend at my parents house having fondue and a good time with my whole family.

Any New Year’s resolutions for 2012?
Peace, love and happiness ;) .. Finding myself in New Zealand! I decided to go there next summer (when it´s winter there) for a few month. I will work in a skischool at a small resort near Lake Tekapo and travel the country afterwards. So curious about the great landscape and people there ..for sure I am going to carry a big case with cameras and film with me!

If you could recommend one movie and one song to everyone, what would they be?
Phuu.. this is a really tough question! There´s so much great music. I love that timeless stuff like The Doors, Hendrix, Pink Floyd and many more. I also like the 80s! Music which is not just a fad. That also includes jazz, house and actual stuff. And I am a big fan of Film Music, for example Ennio Morricone or Nick Cave & Warren Ellis. Let me recommend one of my favorites that also fits to the topic “analogue” pretty good: It´s Richie Havens´ live version of Going back to my roots.

Movie recommendation is not easier ..I wont recommend any Quentin Tarantino Movie here because everyone will know it. I would rather more like you to watch Alex de la Iglesia´s Perdita Durango, released as Dance with the Devil in the US. It features a psychotic criminal couple who… I wont tell you the whole story, watch it!

What’s your favorite analogue camera to shoot with?
That changes from time to time. I love all of them for their uniqueness and individual advantages. But if I have to choose one I´d say Lubitel 166+ at the moment. I got my best shots with it and it helped me to understand the technical parts of photography.. you have to think about the settings before you shoot. And that makes it much more interesting I think. But maybe even tomorrow it could be a different one.

What’s the next camera you’d like to get your hands on?
Before I saw the Lomokino I would have said a Holga CFN 120 a Spinner 360 and someday a Mamiya c330. But now it´s definitely the Lomokino. I think I´m going to buy one in the next days!

What’s your favorite memory from this year?
I think it was a Skilesson with two wonderful guys from India who had never seen snow before. We had so much fun together! Very nice people! I hope to meet them again one day ..maybe in India.

And now for the toughest question – What’s been your favorite photo from the past year?
There are a few shots I´m pretty glad that I released the shutter at that moment. But the one where I splitzed my girlfriend in the car is very special for me. Maybe because it has been my first shot that really pushed my motivation and for sure because I didn´t expect anything like that. After that I started to notice what´s possible on film!
