The station «Podmoskovnaya» and the locomotive depot.

Complex station «Podmoskovnaya» Riga direction, located near the metro station "Falcon", was erected in 1901 during a large-scale project for the construction of the Moscow-Vindava railway. The growth of industrial production, approval of capitalism and trade development demanded to tie Moscow to the Latvian ports. So while «Podmoskovnaya» served as the main freight and passenger station on the way from Moscow to Windau (today Ventspils), and then in Riga.
The station lies the ancient village near Moscow All Saints, the first mention of which dates from the end of the XIV century. As for centuries the largest settlement on the way to Moscow from the northwest, All Saints was a place to temporarily stop the kings before entering the town.

In 1938, the station was built connecting path from being built electrodepot «Sokol», through which Moscow Metro began to receive cars from the factory.

Since November 1941 at the station, on the basis of the People's Commissar of Defense Directive (People's Commissar of Defence) of the USSR number 22ss, dated 29 October 1941, the 23rd formed a separate division of armored trains.

Now the complex is used as a repair depot for locomotives and steam engines, planned reconstruction of the locomotive plant. There is a chemical laboratory, located in a building that was once envisioned as a living. In the administrative building live machinists working in shifts method, there periodically make movies. Brick water tower, which operates until now, provides railroad water.

Since 2006 Podmoskovnaya a tourist attraction - there are regular guided tours for everyone at the station and depot. Every Sunday from Riga station on the suburban train goes retro in the locomotive traction. In 2014 it carried out a large-scale reconstruction of the locomotive depot and the return of his original appearance of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory in May 2015. Inside the station recreated atmosphere of the early 20th century with the cashier, telegraph, lounges and a snack bar.
