Where dragons dwell

The water monitor is so despised and dreaded in Thailand, that the equivalent for the F-word in Thai language is เหี้ย, the common name for that gigantic reptile. It moves slowly most of the time but has deadly reflexes when it hunts. It preys on fish, frogs, rodents, birds, crabs, snakes, turtles and even baby crocodiles but it can also eat carrion
