Portrait of a centenarian

It was said he is over 100 years old living in a remote area of Zambia (Kafue). There was no proof for his age, no birth certificate, no ID cards or whatsoever but his memories went back to a time (first railroad in Zambia) which could well proof that he must have been 100+. The villagers honoured him and also took care of him - solidarity in a very poor area! I was impressed by that community and also this wise man. The shot was done end of the nineties - with a Rolleiflex 35.

@neufotomacher Thanks for your intensive visit of my LH and your support - yes, I like this as well and the story behind it. The man was almost blind (from cataract) but rejected a sight saving surgery - as he was highly respected as the old blind wise man of that community.
