Silver Wood No.III

I'm on a roll, the last couple of days I am working with wood as a medium and it is very rewarding. This time I got a bit more conceptual and worked with my muse and Chinese Geisha Du Yan on another one. I only applied emulsion on a streak in the middle with one strong brush stroke and let it dry for a very short time to prevent too much of the emulsion to sink in. Love the results and can't wait to work on some more tomorrow.

    @klawe Du meinst Landscape Format? Ja bin ich einer Meinung, aber manche Fotos funktionieren nun mal besser auf Portrait... Na ja, viele Landscapes kommen bald:)

    @klawe Ahh! Ja absolut! Ehrlich gesagt hatte ich das nicht selbst bestimmt, ich habe 5 Platten vorbereitet und dann einfach die naechste aus der Dunkelkammer geholt, wusste aber nicht welche Richtung die Maserung war:) Aber es stimmt, funktioniert besser. Muss ich naechstes Mal aufpassen beim Pinseln

    Super! Du behandelst das Holz vorher nicht mit Gelantine? Ich hätte da glaube ich Angst, dass mit das Holz zu viel von der Emulsion "auffrisst".

    @klawe Etwa 40x 8x10'', also etwa 160 4x5'' Platten! Ziemlich gut fuer 40 Euro

    @treml Danke! Ich mag die Gelatine nicht wirklich da es mir oft komische oelige Striche gibt, es viel laenger geht bis es trocknet und auch ziemlich von der Textur wegnimmt. Ich muss allerdings Gelatine bruachen wenn ich Glass oder Metall benutze, sonst schwimmt die Emulsion beim Entwickeln einfach weg

    @klawe Also bis jetzt kann ich es nur empfehlen. Ich war erstaunt wie einfach es ist, freu mich auf deine ersten Resultate!

    Interessant, danke. Du könntest mal ausprobieren, die Ränder der Glasscheiben mit Albumin vorzubehandeln um das Wegschwimmen der Schicht zu verhindern. Bei Collodion bewirkt das manchmal Wunder ... warum sollte das dann mit der Fotoemulsion nicht auch funktionieren ;)

    @treml Aha, cool danke, wusste ich nicht, muss mal Recherche machen! Ich kenn mich mit Collodion noch nicht wirklich aus!

    @fragakis_p Thank you very much! I have just got my head around those wood plates for the last couple of days, real cool and so much still to discover... But why not, let's see what Lomography thinks of this idea!:)

    Really cool experiments! But take your time, watch out for her foot ;-)

    @srcardoso I don't mind that at all actually, separates the image a bit... The foot is on the negative, but very much at the rugged edge, so I cropped it a bit cleaner
