   Hey <disdis>,

   My name is Kirk Marshall. I am the Australian-based editor of "Red Leaves / 紅葉", the English-language / Japanese bi-lingual literary journal. I edit the publication with Yasuhiro Horiuchi, the Tokyo-based screenwriter and radio celebrity.

   Having published & released "Red Leaves / 紅葉" in 2010, I'm now planning to formulate a second issue of "Red Leaves / 紅葉" for 2011. Our ambition is to commission twelve paid artists/illustrators/photographers to contribute new and original work to "Red Leaves / 紅葉" #002. Our literary journal has already published the likes of Iris Yamashita, the Academy Award-nominated screenwriter, and Hirofumi Sugimoto, an award-winning graphic novelist. Having recently discovered your online portfolio of photography via Lomography, I would very much like to solicit permission from you for Yasuhiro & I to use the above photo as the cover illustration for “Red Leaves / 紅葉” #002. You would, of course, be remunerated for your contribution and receive a complimentary contributors' copy of the anthology in which your photograph was showcased.
