@lizkoppert we are having unaccustomed heat in Welly. Summer at last as autumn is often a wonderful Indian summer. I have Zorki C @ Zorki 4 @sirio174 is giving very good advice on their merits

@ratimirk My lovely Z4, after a PROFESSIONAL CLA, works like an M4... same for my Z6 and for my F2. However, Fed viewfinder are dim respect to Z1, 4, 6. (I don't know Zorki 2, 3 cameras, I don't have)

@ratimirk @lizkoppert Yes, Zorki 6 is one of the best, if you don't need slow times.

@lizkoppert You better buy yourself Zorki 6 camera! Much better working and shutter speed you can change at any time, lenses are the same!I have them both!

@lizkoppert Remember that all cameras more than 30 years old need a CLA (not russian camera only)! So buy a CLAd camera. And - the last tip: ask about back door closure (some are loose)

@lizkoppert My preferred are Zorki 4, 6 and 1 and Fed 2. Hope that this help. Before buy these camera, ask to check the curtains status and the slow times (1/30, B and below 1/30)

@lizkoppert Fed viewfinders are dim, Zorki are bright (brighter than Leica!!!!!)

@lizkoppert Fed 3 is a very well made camera, very similar to Fed 5b but made with better materials. However it is bulky and heavy.

@lizkoppert Best curtains are on Zorki 1, 5 and 6 - silk and rubber, very well made. Good also on arly Zorki 4 (those with engraved "Zorki") but check the rubber side, sometimes it is tacky

@lizkoppert Zorki 6 is a great camera, very similar to Fed 2 (but with a brighter viewfinnder) and a hinged back (require light seals)

@lizkoppert The Zorki 4k has an advance lever (not so important for me) but has not camera strap attach. Avoid Zorki 5 (problems with the spring inside the advance mechanism)

@lizkoppert A nice Zorki 4 (built in the '60 and early '70) is a great camera with a wonderful viewfinder/rangefinder with slow times and camera strap. Check carefully the curtains status

@lizkoppert However, Z1 has, like the old Leica (before the M series) separate windows for rangefinder and viewfinder.

@lizkoppert If you want a tiny compact, elegant and reliable one, try a Zorki 1 (all these camera need a CLA, to remove the old grease - the same for every camera more than 30 years old)

@lizkoppert Fed 5b is heavy and big, it it better to buy a Fed 2, less weight, smaller, and with strap attach. This camera doesn't have slows times (below 1/30s) that I seldom use for my street photos

@Sirio174, read some of your articles on the cameras... pretty cool. Seem to be gravitating towards the Zorki 4, 4k, 6 and maybe the Fed 5b. Not sure which model of Zorki I should settle on though.

@cmart, wouldn't say no to a Leica II or III, but those things are way out of my price bracket :) Hence thinking along the lines of Zorki, Fed, Mir (and maybe even Zarya). How'd ya find the Fed 5b?
