David Arquette shooting with the Lomo LC-A+
17 23 Share TweetDavid Arquette is an actor, entrepreneur, and toy-collector extraordinaire. He has been in films such as Eight-Legged Freaks, Hamlet 2, and of course the Scream films. David was happy to take some shots with the Lomo LC-A+ and share his photos and thoughts with us.
REAL NAME: David Arquette. I don’t have a middle name and I’ve always wanted one. It’s a sore spot
CITY: Los Angeles
COUNTRY: USA
How long have you been a Lomographer (or are you new to this whole thing)?
David Arquette: I’ve taken quite a few Lomo pictures. Everything from the color flash version to the four pictures to the Horizon. I can’t find my Horizon, though, and I may kill somebody.
Describe the Lomo LC-A+ in five words
DA: It makes anyone an artist.
The strangest, funniest, or hands-down greatest photographic/Lomographic encounter that you have ever had
DA: I was gonna take a picture of this homeless guy but he looked at me and said, “Hey! What are you doing?” I said, “I was gonna take your picture.” He said, “But I’m homeless.” I felt like shit. I gave him some money but I still felt pretty shitty.
If your photos shown here could have a soundtrack of three songs, what would they be (song title & artist please).
DA:
- Isn’t She Lovely – Stevie Wonder
- Steal My Kisses – Ben Harper
- Three Little Birdies – Bob Marley
Tell us a little bit about your upcoming clothing line.
DA: I started it with Ben Harper and David Bedwell because we all share a similar philosophy on clothing, plus we’re all good buddies. It’s functional clothing with vintage details, but with a very contemporary look and feel. In other words, it’s magic.
You’re notorious for your toy collection… is there any one piece in your collection that lights you up more than any other?
DA: My Effanbe Legends Series Liberace doll is pretty choice. And then my grandfather’s Charley Weaver bartender.
If you could be anywhere in the world right now with a camera and a bag full of film, where would you go?
DA: Tokyo. I’ve never been, but I have a feeling that if I went I might never come back.
The one person (living or deceased) who you would most like to photograph?
DA: My parents so I’d get to see them again. (Gasp. Sob. Hold on, gimme a minute…) On second thought, Liberace.
Analog or digital? Which world would you rather live in?
DA: Honestly, I think it’s great that we live in a world with both. But, if I was forced to choose – analog. But those would be some slow-ass computers.
Your advice to future Lomo LC-A+ shooters?
DA: Have fun. Be free. Don’t shoot homeless people.
