Pool Parties at the Cannes Film Festival by Miss Marion

One of our LomoAmigos, Miss Marion, recently attended the Cannes Film Festival. She also held an exhibit of her work with Lomographic cameras there as well. Join us as we catch up with her as she recounts the whole experience.

The 63rd Cannes Film festival:

• 10 nights
• 2 pool Parties
• Too many parties
• 1 red carpet
• 2 films
• 2 lovers

My exhibition was at 3.14 Hotel with my Diana F+ pictures.

I was supposed to only stay for 3 days, I ended up staying for the entire festival…

The funny thing is, I realized just a couple days before the end that I was actually going to make it entirely! 10 fantastic days…or should I rather say 10 fantastic nights? I was never in my bed before 7 or 8am, sometimes 2 in the afternoon. Actually my favorite time was playing around by the pool before midday, that’s when my energy level was at its best, and it seemed to be the perfect time to perform my special teasing ritual: gentle sun, beautiful light, a small but mesmerized audience…and what a joy to bow in a splash! I have to confess a magnum of champagne was opened once for two people by the pool at 10 am, how fabulously stupid is that?!

The setting was a white villa from the twenties with a amazing view of Cannes. I couldn’t take my eyes from the view. Day or night, sunrise to sunset, I was hypnotized by the view. There were lots of friends in this villa, all of us from Le Cercle in Paris, and no drama. Just fun and happiness. Then we decided to share some of the fun and we opened the house twice to more friends, actors, film makers and business men, anyone tired of running la Croisette back and forth. Pool Parties – I love them!
