Post-War Agfa Karat 3.5 v1b (1947) – S/N HA 6651 After World War II, Agfa introduced an updated version of the Karat 3.5. In terms of design and build, it closely resembled the last pre-war model, but technically there were some notable differences. Instead of the four-element Solinar lens, this version featured a simpler three-element Apotar lens. The shutter was a Prontor, branded by Agfa as Karat. Both shutter speeds and aperture settings were displayed on the shutter plate. The earliest units came with uncoated lenses, but soon after, Agfa switched completely to coated optics for improved image quality. Variants with the more common Prontor-S shutter also existed, as this shutter was widely used in cameras of that era. My serial number HA 6651 appears to belong to the final batch of Karat 3.5 cameras ever produced. In total, approximately 33,000 units were made. #AgfaKarat #AgfaCamera #VintageCamera #35mmPhotography #AnalogPhotography #FilmPhotography #ClassicCamera #VintageLens #ApotarLens #ProntorShutter #CameraHistory #PostWarCamera #1940sPhotography #AnalogCommunity #FilmIsNotDead #CameraCollector #CameraCollection #VintageGear #RangefinderCamera #RetroPhotography #FilmCameraLove #FilmShooter #AgfaHistory #CameraPorn #VintageStyle #MadeInGermany #CameraMuseum #OldCameras
