Mars Attacks!! 2021

Film developed from camera found next to charred remains found after UFO attack in late 2021. Fate of photographer unknown.... Either that, or a fatal bleaching accident. Kodak 400 Gold, expired. Shot with Bessa L and Lomo T-43 triplet 40mm lens. Developed in Flexicolor C-41 developer, bleached with modified copper sulfate bleach - 25mg copper sulfate pentahydrate, 25mg Ammonium Chloride and approximately 5 grams of sodium bisulfite to drop the pH to under 2. The pH ended up around 1.9. As far as I can see it relieves the film of most of the emulsion or at least the dyes. This is the only frame of 24 that was visible in exactly the center of the film (tank developed). The idea was to make a faster/longer lasting bleach but it does not seem effective. Perhaps acetic acid instead of bisulfite. perhaps the Sodium bisulfite changes the nature of the bleach itself, not just lowering the pH. 6 1/2 minute bleach followed by a 3 minute rinse and 6 1/2 minutes of fix in ammonium thiosulfate and final wash. No real reason to stray from the original copper sulfate bleach without the acid ....
