I took off the rear element of the 150mm f5.6 effectively turning it into a 450mm f16 soft-focus lens, giving the picture a nice pictorial soft look. Then waited for the fog to creep in so I can hide the shoreline across and create this isolated feel. And two ducks
Yesterday's short trip to the Schwyz area paid off quite nicely, I am very happy about this shot with Imago Positive Paper, exactly as I imagined to be. Lots of negative space, strong contrast, a strong black sun due to the solarization of the photo paper and a lens flare that I couldn't have arranged at a nicer spot.
The Japanese vessel, the Eihatsu Maru, ran aground at 05:15 on Saturday, 13th of May, in thick fog.
We, obviously, decided to go and photograph it.
on 18/05/2012 the 50m Japanese fishing vessel that ran aground off First Beach in Clifton has been removed.
I used to live in this area for 4 months 7 years ago, so it was great fun to come back and take as many pictures as possible in a short period of time. Thing is, we were on our way to vineyards and had to do some illegal parking:)
I live in a van. I drove my van from Cape Town to Durban which is more or less 1700 km's. It took me 12 days. I plan to take 36 days to do the trip in reverse with my girlfriend. Stay tuned.
