These ruins are much older than the flood. I'm guessing the house and car were abandoned together in the 40's or 50's but its hard to tell, American's like to collect classic cars so it could be much later than that. I wonder when I look at this place if the owner died and none of his heirs wanted the place or if he didn't have any heirs? Maybe he simply drove off in another car one day and left this to rot. Once upon a time the bayou's in Louisiana were a hub of activity, today they are mostly abandoned.
