i`ve just recently bought a camera from 1957!!! that`s how the oldschool works, adding some white patches of reflected light. It`s quite strange holding such an old camera and then realizing how much shit it outlived!!

The white spots are not reflected light, it is pinholes in the shutter curtain. I have 2 FED's with exactly the same problem. You can check your camera without film in. Pull the shutter, so that the first curtain appears. It is almost always this curtain you find the problem with. Remove the lens and point your camera towards the sun or another light source. You will then find some tiny holes in the curtain. It should be near the top, as your white spots are near the bottom. Look at this site: www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-gVXjAe448&t=196s and see how to fix it. I fixed mine, and they both work brilliant now. I used some special silicone gasket for my motorbike. It must be flexible and not sticky after it has dryed. The repair spot on the curtain is fortunately not in the middle of the curtain roll, but outside, when the first curtain is on its roll after you taking a photo. Good luck. Best regards BoxerClaus
