Areca Palm II (Layered) - Cyanotype

English botanist Anna Atkins is often dubbed the first woman to make photographs using cyanotype to illustrate her book and mostly displays seaweed as well as other types of dried algae. In the process of recording objects Anna Atkins using photogram techniques or recording objects without a camera (camera less). A photogram technique is where an object is placed on a paper medium coated with a light-sensitive chemical liquid (photosensitive) exposed to sunlight to produce an image. The first photography book was published by Anna Atkins herself in 1843, and is often hailed as the first book to contain photographic illustrations. The book's name is Photographs of British Algae: Cyanotype Impressions. The purpose of Anaa Atkins's photography book itself is scientific, but the prints have artistic value in aesthetics. And it has been an inspiration for artists who use cyanotypes.
