The dam of Aposelemi was built in 2012 to form a reservoir that would supply water for the surrounding area. The village of Sfendili (sometimes also written as Sfentyli) was soon overcome by the expanding reservoir and deserted. Lately the willage has re-emerged due to dryness in the area.

  • 빼빼로 / pepero day!

    compartido por joyceyjoyce en 2011-11-15

November 11th is 빼빼로 / pepero day here in korea! Pepero (빼빼로) is a cookie stick that kids like to snack on. according to wiki..... Pepero Day is an observance in South Korea similar to Valentine's Day. It is named after the Korean snack Pepero and held on November 11, since the date "11/11" resembles four sticks of Pepero.[3][4] The holiday is observed mostly by young people and couples, who exchange Pepero sticks, other candies, and romantic gifts. According to one story, Pepero Day was started in 1994 by students at a girls' middle school in Busan, where they exchanged Pepero sticks as gifts to wish one another to grow "as tall and slender as a Pepero".

A city map and an iPhone which can be rented at the airport will be the savvy tourist's gadgets to conquer the streets of Seoul. But if both fail and you seemed to be lost or clueless as to how to get to your next destination, there is no need to panic. Just look for the people in red caps and red long jackets marked Tourism Assistance Officer during winter as these people could give you directions on how to navigate your way around the city. You'll find them in most key tourist spots walking around and looking for people to help. The ones we met were all very nice and helpful despite occasional difficulty in communicating in English. But worry not. They will mark in their map your present location and your destination, suggesting ways how to get there most efficiently. And they'll give the free map to you for your reference. I noticed they usually travel in pairs.
