    @hervinsyah "Oshin" was a good drama.
    It is also an area that gets a lot of snow.
    People still live in houses with thatched roofs.

    Yes indeed. Oshin's hometown are in Yamagata. It's very famous j-dorama when I was a toddler in Indonesia circa late 80s. I finally could watched it again about 5 or 6 years ago when channel Waku Waku Japan are still aired
