I take pictures of the magnolia tree in our backyard every year as it blooms. This year I decided to do something different so I took pictures of it at night! I used two 40" umbrellas with 85w CFL bulbs and stands that go up to 5 meters high. By shooting at night I was able to precisely control the lighting and get a black background.
I’m having a hard time deciding whether it is a good thing od a bad thing that one doesn’t know one is experiencing something for the very last time whilst one does.
Actually i never wanted to shot this film, but i'm really impressed by the results. Homedeved with my beloved DIY 110er Spool (DIY is still King!) in Cinestill 41.
Large format photography project with Lomochromes. :) Photographed with Graflex Crown Graphic and Purple + Turquoise. I filled the filmholders with strips of both films. I had a little fail while developing when two halves of film stuck together. So I lost two halves of different frames. Never mind though. Overall it's a success and I love the results. :)
I bought a Pentax Honeywell Spotmatic (it was a bargain) to go on a Beatles-themed photowalk in Liverpool. Tested it with 4 lenses and also a rarely-used Sunpak 455 flash unit which I should get out more often.
Two occassions - first six frames in Hamburg during a family get together. The rest shows the scenery around my favourit cafe in my home town Bensheim. Seagull 4 B with some problem at the guiding plate (vertical telegraph line) - needs to be polished. Fuji Provia Slide Film E 6 processed.

In the past months I have been following a long term project about sustainable architecture in sub-sahara Africa. Among other things I had been at site of the construction of the new Goethe-Institute in Dakar and I have been meeting the incredible artist Ibrahim Mahama at his Red Clay Studio in Ghana.
