The local Council Building. Lomo Cosmic Symbol and Fomapan

The camera. Its basically the same as the 8M with a little bit of body redesign and a few ‘upgrades’. It feels a lot more substantial than the 8M and easier to use. There’s double-exposure prevention and the shutter is cocked when the film is wound-on. It makes the whole process a little quicker and safer. It has meters AND feet around the lens barrel, very handy purely because i’m useless at my conversion from meters to feet so having that is very handy. Theres no exposure meter so you really are winging it. I used a Paterson meter which so far has been quite accurate but other than that, you don’t get any help. It has the weather symbols around the barrel but I rarely use them. The ISO setting is on and round the lens which is part of the aperture settings (f. - f16). Theres not much more to say to be honest. Its a basic, for-the-masses point ‘n’ shoot, zone-focusing camera from the former Soviet Union.
The below photos were taken in the grounds of the local dictatorship, sorry, Council. This is Walthamstow Town Hall, the London borough of backhanders and where they (almost) take advice from babies up to four years old. For me, these shots represent more of what ISN’T in the photos. In the shot with the construction boards, theres a pile of granulated rubble. This is what remains of a genuine Brutalist piece of architecture. This is where Walthamstow Magistrates court was situated. Now bulldozed and gone to make way for shiny new apartments and a blatant show of gentrification and social engineering. They (the council) have ‘moved’ people out to be relocated 100s of miles away to make a very easy path for Gen Z (I was Gen-X btw). They have actively and succeeded eradicating history to make way for more generic, rabbit hutched sized homes. This where money, greed and self interest take over. A borough of 250,000 catering for a couple of thousand. Rant over !
